“A grateful mind is a great mind which eventually attracts to itself great things.” – Plato

Would you like to experience a more peaceful state of mind? A place from which you were better able to deal with life’s uncertainty, challenges and perceived obstacles?

I can help you achieve that state of mind

My name is Lucy Farran and I am a Therapeutic and Transformational Art Coach who will guide you in using powerful drawing techniques to help you change your short-term state of mind and your long-term mindset and behaviours.

What is Therapeutic and Transformational Art Coaching?

As an art coach, I use two different drawing techniques, Zentangle® Drawing and Neurographica®, both of which achieve a lowering of brainwave frequency and provide the therapeutic effect of a relaxed focus on the present moment. These types of drawing can provide immediate relief from stress and anxiety.

How is it transformational?

The relaxed state of mind achieved allows access to creative and intuitive thoughts that are often obscured from our awareness by the busyness of our lives . Drawing in this way also facilitates changes in perspective which, over time, create permanent, empowering shifts in thought patterns / mindset.

Is it art therapy in the traditional sense?

NO. And I am not a trained art therapist. In my role as a transformational coach I work with my clients on their current situation and where they want to get to in the future. When coaching, I offer no advice, but simply use the drawing technique to guide clients to realise that the answers they need to life’s challenges are always within them, they simply need uncovering.

Who is it for?

Therapeutic and Transformational Art Coaching can help people of all ages and backgrounds deal with difficulties they are experiencing in their lives. If you can hold a pen and have a reasonable amount of control with it, then you can experience the benefits of using these drawing techniques.

Would you like to experience the benefits of meditation* without sitting still with your eyes shut?

Imagine a meditation where each mantra (mind tool) is not a repeated phrase, but repeated simple pen strokes in a particular sequence which create an overall visual pattern.

Unlike the use of mantras in traditional meditation, the act of drawing provides both a visual and kinaesthetic component. Stillness of the mind can be easily achieved by putting focus on the repetitive movements of the hand and the visual and effects it produces with the pen, creating a powerful hand-eye feedback loop in which the attention is held.

* The benefits of meditation include: stress reduction and improved focus, mood and sleep,
